Our commitment
Heart-Strong wants everyone to be able to use this site. Reaching across difference is one of our values, and a website somebody cannot use is just another wall.
What we are working toward
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1, at Level AA. We are not there yet, and we would rather say so than claim otherwise.
What we have done so far
Descriptive alternative text on images
Keyboard navigation throughout the site
Text that can be resized without breaking the layout
Color contrast that meets the standard in most places
Where we know we fall short
Some older posts have images without alternative text
Some embedded tools, including our newsletter signup and parts of the store, are outside our direct control
Contrast on some colored buttons does not yet meet Level AA
We are working on these.

If you run into something on this site you cannot use, please tell us. Write to hello@heart-strong.org and describe what happened and what you were trying to do. We will respond within 5 business days and do our best to fix it, or to get you what you needed another way.
