Sit with how ridiculous that sounds for a second. We do, most days. But that's kind of the whole thing. Fear is loud and easy to fund. Love takes somebody deciding to be a little ridiculous on purpose. You just did that.
So thank you! Not for the money, though that helps more than you'd think. For being curious enough to believe in love.

Money from the work keeps them in touch with their families, because saying I love you to your kid shouldn't cost an hour of wages. In prison, it often does. And a person who learns the story behind what they bought stops seeing a crime and starts seeing another human.
